Crisis In Seme-Border, Many Feared Dead As Custom And People Clash

I have just been notified of a bloody clash between the people of the community and the men of Nigeria Custom officers in the village of Seme in Badagry, a border town between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

A reliable source disclosed that the violence outbreak was most likely triggered by continuous tension between men of the Nigeria Customs Service and some members of the community.

Eyewitness further explained that the security officials have been drafted to the scene to avert further escalation of the crisis.

A number of villagers and members of the Nigeria Customs are feared dead.

19 Year Old Student Of Iree Poly Baths Boyfriend With Hot Water

A 19 year old female student of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on her boyfriend shortly after his birthday at Miracle Hall, BHS area in Iree last Saturday.

 Daily Trust reported that, the attacker, Yetunde by name, poured the hot water on Niyi Adelana (pictured above) because he invited other girls to his party and flirted with them right in front of her

Niyi, a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student of Computer Science, suffered serious burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, DSP Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident in a chat with Daily Trust. She said investigation was still going on and that upon completion, the girl would be charged to court.

Beverly who was away from home for 90 days representing Nigeria at the just concluded BBA The Chase. But that wasn’t Mama Bev’s biggest issues; her daughter made headlines week in week out – whether she was dirty dancing, cursing out her rapper ex-boyfriend, getting fingered, smashing in bed or having pleasurable baths.

Despite the unending controversy, Beverly’s mum never stopped loving her daughter and in fact talked down any of her (Beverly’s mum) friends who would call to chastise her. ‘She just wanted her daughter to come back home safe, every other thing didn’t matter‘, said a family friend.

Obasanjo Builds Nigerian-Made Aeroplane

A wannabe aviator, Mr. Kehinde Durojaiye Obasanjo, built a locally made engine in a contraption that runs on road and sea. SaharaTV found him operating the contraption in Ikeja to attract minor donors who collected his Compact Disk in which he said he recorded its operation on water. 

Mr. Obasanjo said he designed it to operate on three mediums: ground, water and air, but has only achieved two due to financial constraints. But for now, the invention can only run on ground and water. He said he had contacted State Governments of Lagos and Ogun to find support, but he only got their promise since beginning of 2013 and yet to be fulfilled till date.

Lori Welbourne, who hosts the radio show On The Rocks and writes a column for the Province newspaper, was talking to Walter Gray, mayor of Kelowna in British Columbia, about whether it was legal in the town for women to bare their bosoms in public.

It has been reported that, Kris Jenner's talk show has been officially canceled as a result of poor rating.  

Kris Jenner has been told by FOX executives that her six-week trial run at being a talk show host will be just that - it’s not coming back for a second run.

Kim K's mother was recently told, “There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”

CEO Of Young Shall Grow Motors Escapes Death

The CEO and managing director of Young Shall Grow Motors Limited, Chief Vincent Obianodo narrowly escaped assassination Tuesday night.

Chief Vincent Obianodo was returning home from work with his police escort and driver when they were attacked on 22 Road in Festac. His police escort and driver were killed on the spot while he was shot in the arm. 

The shooting attracted the attention of some Police men on patrol who rushed to the scene and engaged the culprits in a gun battle. Two of them were killed while others escaped with bullets wounds.

Beverly Ada Osu Lands In Hospital

Beverly has not being in her optimum state of health since she returned

from the just concluded Big Brother Africa TV reality show. 

She's said to have sustained an injury on the finale of the show when trying to climb the stairs to the stage.

She is presently on admission at Faith City Hospital, Oju Olobun Close, off Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Melvin Oduah and Uti nwachucku were the first set of people to visit her at the hospital.

Though, she's said to be responding to treatment.  

Austin JJ Okocha Joins Nollywood

Nigerian football legend Austin JJ Azuka Okocha has joined the Nigerian movie industry, currently producing a movie about reggae star Majek Fashek.

The movie's screen play is reportedly written by Charles Novia, and features Fracis Duru as Majek Fasek, Sam Dede, Stella Damascus and other top Nollywood actors.

According to Novia, the movie is shooting on 35mm and took about 3 years to fine-tune. It is presently at its pre-production stage, after which the crew will travel to New York in October to shoot the America scene, which is the major part of the film.

Fracis Duru, as it was gathered has been undergoing guitar lessons, and extensive study of Majek’s character for the past eight month to fit the role.

A Birthday Message From Mercy Johnson To You

They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no; because I won't be where I am today if I ended up on the street.

Sex Education Female Teacher Rapes 14 Year Old Male Student

Rachelle Gendron, 27, was fired from her job at North Central Charter Essential School in Fitchburg following an investigation in which police allegedly recovered "significant" evidence of inappropriate conduct, including text messages and photos of the teacher "in various states of undress with genitals and breasts exposed," from the phone of a 14-year-old male student.

In court Friday, Gendron appeared crying and visibly shaken as she was arraigned on charges including five counts of rape aggravated by age difference. continue....

Man Caught Having Sex With Daughter Inside Car

A 53 year old man, Barry Thompson, was arrested on Sunday after sheriff's deputies in Deltona found him in his car near the entrance of Pride Elementary School. They told him he was trespassing on school property, according to the Sun Sentinel. His 29-year-old stepdaughter was in the passenger seat.

When asked why his pants were unzipped, Thompson reportedly confessed that he and his stepdaughter had a sexual relationship that they were trying to hide from his wife, who is the woman's mother. continue.....

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: ASUU Gives Up

The negotiations between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government collapsed again yesterday as the lecturers have pulled out of the Governor Gabriel Suswam-led Committee on Needs Assessment of Nigerian Universities.

In a letter detailing its reasons for withdrawing  from the committee, ASUU said that the committee had not made progress on the issues for which it was set up, adding it was not satisfied with the way the N100 billion raised by government to  rehabilitate structures in the universities was being managed. continue....

Imo State Governor And Catholic Doctors At War Over Abortion Law

Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, and Catholic Medical Practitioners Association are at daggers-drawn over the abortion bill the former just signed into law.

The law, among others, permits women to procure abortion at will. Sponsored by the Majority Leader and member representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency, Mrs. Adekunle Ihuoma, the law is to be cited as “Imo State of Nigeria, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law Number 12 of 2012”.

According to the new law, every woman shall have the right to enjoy reproductive rights, including  rights to medical abortion in cases of sexual assault, rape, incest and where the continued pregnancy endangers the life or the physical, mental, psychological or emotional health of the mother.
