Unilag Admissions Statistics And Requirements; For 2015/2016 Prospective Students

As part of my contributions to make your dreams of becoming a proud student of the highly prestigious University of Lagos a reality, I told you guys in one of my previous posts that the most important part of your admission process into UNILAG is to get right information and follow simple instructions.

In this very post, I want to give you the figures of how the 2014/2015 newly admitted Unilag undergraduates students were selected for the provisional admission offer at our dear University of Lagos. As revealed by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution Professor Rahmon Bello while addressing the matriculating students.

My advise for every Jambite and Direct Entry candidate that wish to be admitted into Unilag in the 2015/2016 academic session, is to pay good attention to the figures below, so that you wouldn't say Tayo Lawal didn't tell us this and that.

And the statistics goes thus:

A total of 61,931 UTME applicants and 4, 316 Direct Entry applicants began the 2014/2015 Admission process into Unilag. Out of that figure, 26, 641 scored 200 and above in UTME (JAMB) while 15, 597 sat for the post-UTME of our esteemed University.

Those offered provisional admission were 5,796 in the UTME category and 2,805 in the direct entry category, making a total of 8, 601.

I want you guyz to pay good attention to this part:
Out of 8,601 candidates that were given admission, after a thorough screening exercise, there are 6,644 applicants who have fully scaled the registration/screening procedure and they are the ones admitted as the bonafide students of the University of Lagos and the other 1957 were sent back home. (Why? because they have chosen wrong O'level or UTME subjects combination for the courses they applied for)

Imagine after giving testimony in church that you have been given admission in Unilag and get to the registration venue to meet the 'shocker' of life.

Unilag doesn't entertain the issue of wrong selection of O'level or UTME subjects. Such candidate will be sent back home immediately.

For example; Anyone that want to study Mass Comm in Unilag must have the following requirements:

O'level subjects: English, Maths, Lit-In- English, and one other Arts or Social Science subject.

And Your UTME (JAMB) subjects must be: English, Lit –in-English and any two subjects from Arts or Social Sc.** Maths is accepted.

Also be informed that Unilag does not accept combination of two O'level results. (Two sittings).

I'm sure you have got one or two things to benefit from this post. I wish you all the best!
