Unilag VC Lifts Ban On The University Of Lagos Students’ Union (ULSU)

According to a recent news on the official Unilag website and I believe this is worth sharing to the delight of some of my fellow Akokaites if not all. Read below...
The Vice Chancellor University of Lagos, Professor Rahamon Bello FAEng; during the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted students for the 2014/2015 academic session held on Friday, January 23, 2015 announced the lifting of the ban on the University of Lagos Students’ Union.
This development is a fulfillment of the promise by the University Management to restore full Students’ Unionism in the University.
The Vice Chancellor thereafter directed the Dean, Students’ Affairs Division, Professor Tunde Babawale, to draw up the programme for the conduct of elections into the University of Lagos Students Union, with effect from this Academic Session.
Professor Bello therefore, appealed to all to operate within the ambit of the new Students’ Union Constitution and conform with University rules and regulations, so that the unfortunate events of the past can be laid permanently to rest.
In the same vein, the Vice Chancellor thanked all members of the Students’ Union Constitution Drafting Committee, for their tireless efforts toward the production of a new Constitution for ULSU.
Do you think the reinstatement of the University of Lagos Student Union (ULSU) as it's about to happen, will bring a plus or minus to the development of our dear University of Lagos?
