First lady of Nigeria Dame Patience Jonathan has declared her intention to support the incoming first lady Aisha Buhari to ensure the safety of Nigerian women, even though she will no longer be in power. Mrs Jonathan made this declaration during the inauguration of the Defence and Police Officers' Wives Association (DEPOWA)'s skills and acquisition centre.
I thank you, Nigerian women for all your support and I will make sure that I support my sister the incoming first lady to make sure Nigerian women are safe.
