Top 5 fast food in unilag hostels - by Olabode Saygee

Written by Unilag's finest MC and Compere Olabode Saygee, its indeed an interesting read.

 Enjoy:

1. GARRI- This is undoubtedly the number one fast food in Unilag (or better still in Nigeria as a whole). Garri (for those that don’t know its cassava flakes) is usually mixed with ordinary water or cold water and taken like corn flakes. For those in the middle class, they buy sugar and cold water but those in the upper class can go as far as buying groundnut, milk and even Milo. Some Unilag girls/boys that like forming say Garri is for the poor, some say when they take it they have eye problem, some even say they have never tasted Garri before, all I have to say is that; Garri (garriumsulphate) have been saving Unilag students(and Nigerians) since 1828 BC.

2. BREAD and anything- This is very common amongst both boys and girls of new hall (that’s why the Unilag bakery is situated close to them) as they can eat bread with anything. Ranging from bread and beans to bread and egg to bread and butter to bread and jam to bread and mayonnaise to bread and peanut butter or bread and indomie or even bread and water. To do bread and anything all you need is have as low as N150. N70 or N80 bread with N50 beans, N50 egg, N50 butter and for those that don’t have jam or peanut butter can easily famz a friend or roommate that do.(AND PLS when you eat bread make sure you take a lot of water to help your digestion) continue....

SERAP, students sue Unilag and JAMB to court over new policy

After several protests which had seemed futile, some of the candidates affected by the newly introduced JAMB policy have taken the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the prestigious University of Lagos, Unilag to the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The applicants alleged that, JAMB Registrar Prof. Dibu Ojerinde issued a directive preventing Unilag from allowing them to participate in the 2015/2016 Unilag Post UTME exercise even after scoring above 180 JAMB cut-off marks for Universities. The JAMB registrar was also accused of sending the names of candidates with less than 250 marks to institutions they did not chose.

In their ex parte application moved before Justice Mohammed Idris, the applicants prayed for leave to apply for an order of mandamus compelling UNILAG to sell the post-UTME forms to them.

Buhari, a product of God and the US (a summary of Pres. Buhari's visit to the US) - by Garba Sheu

Written by Garba Sheu, President Buhari's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity. Read below..
Shortly after the August 1983 military coup that brought a 40-year-old Muhammadu Buhari to power, he received a phone call from top personnel in the United States Army. General Smith was the Commandant of the U.S. War College from which General Buhari graduated in 1980. The school's 1979 set had graduated its first Nigerian, General Wushishi, who was the Chief of Defence in the just ousted Shehu government.
"Please, be kind to him," General Smith said over the phone.

The essence of the phone call was not just to congratulate Nigeria's new Head of State, but to ensure that the first Nigerian to graduate from the U.S. War College would not suffer any indignity under the government of the second Nigerian to graduate from the same school.
On Wednesday, July 22, members of the U.S. War College Class of 1980 gathered at the Blair House in Washington, DC, to welcome the man they had selected as their football team referee 36 years ago.
"Being referee all those years ago taught me to be fair and just," President Buhari said during the meeting. continue......

How to check if you are eligible for 2015/2016 Unilag Post UTME Form

In my recent updates, I gave the link and explained how to check if you are eligible to apply for the 2015/2016 Unilag Post UTME Form and continue with this year's admission process in the prestigious University of Lagos.

Like I have said, as at the time of writing this post, Unilag has not pasted anything like list of eligible candidates anywhere, the only way to know if you are eligible to apply for the 2015/2016 Unilag Post UTME Form or not is to log on to Unilag Post UTME Application Portal like I have explained before.

But, I'm still getting a whole lot of phone calls and messages from people asking me to help them with the list of the eligible candidates. Which shows some people are still very much confused about the whole thing as a result of the newly introduced JAMB policy.

I don't have anyone to blame, it is really confusing and frustrating, to be very candid.

So, I have decided to make this post to shed more light on this issue and explain more clearly how to know if you are eligible to apply for 2015/2016 Unilag Post UTME form. See below:

A Crap Called Policy: My opinion on JAMB's new policy - Tayo Lawal writes

Corruption is not only when you make away with funds or you  loot the treasure of a country. The act of betraying the trust of people is also one of the greatest forms of corruption I know. It is pathetic when someone whose decision can affect the lives of many has no fairness in his dealings.

To me, this Jamb policy abi whatsoever it is called is nothing but crap. It is not fair to the students who have worked so hard to score up to the known 200 and even above. It is not fair to the parents who have spent their money and time encouraging these kids. It is not fair to humanity I must say.

This is more of imposing a policy on people. It is not flexible on any side. I see it more as betraying the trust of those young guyz, many of who will still have to stay another one year at home after scoring 200 and above in JAMB as a result of this bullshit you called policy.

Why didn't JAMB or whoever initiated this crappy policy announce long before this year's JAMB examinations so the candidates could have had their minds prepared or better relax their policy till next year if to be introduced at all. All this must stop in this country if we should move forward. continue below.......
