Ooni of Ife is still alive, chiefs debunk death news

Chiefs of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade have said that the King is not dead. The members of the Royal Traditional Council made this known today during their visit to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state at the government's house.

The chiefs stated that Oba Okunade Sijuade is still very much alive and would be returning to the country hale and hearty anytime soon. They added that, news of his death is nothing but a mere rumour. continue....
"we were all shocked when we heard the rumour. If at all such an incident had occurred, the traditional council would be the first to know and equally break the news to the entire public.
"Sixteen of us are his chiefs and when he was travelling out, he didn't look like he was going to die and should that have happened to him, we would have been informed even before anyone would hear about it. We pray that Ooni Sijuade will live long in good health."
Governor Aregbesola in his response, commended the chiefs for holding forth while Oba Sijuade was away, and he prayed for sound health and long life for the monarch.

Don't miss any of my updates:
