Aisha Buhari donates ₦2 million to the less privileged in Zamfara

Wife of the Nigerian president, Hajia Aisha Buhari has donated the sum of ₦2 million to a Non Governmental Organization in charge of the less privileged in Zamfara state.

The donation was presented yesterday Saturday 7th of November by wife of Kebbi state governor, Hajiya Zainab Bagudu, who represented Mrs. Buhari at the launch of the NGO, Himma Community Health Circle Initiative (H-COHEIC). The NGO was founded by the daughter of Zamfara state governor, Hajiya Zainab Yari.

Mrs. Buhari described the initiative as a good way of improving the well being of women and children in the state. She commended UNICEF and other partner NGOs and community based organisations for joining hands with H-COHEIC in order to bring succor to the poor and less privileged. The coordinator of the initiative, Hajiya Samina Anka said over 50, 000 persons drawn from the 14 local government areas of the state would be the first beneficiaries of the scheme.

During the launch, about N70 million was realised, with the highest donation of N10 million coming from Alhaji Abba Aliero, a Kebbi state based businessman.
