Cyclist dies after completing Cycle Challenge

The race organiser of the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge has confirmed that a man had died after completing the ride. Tanya Harford said the family had asked that his details not be disclosed yet. Almost 33,000 cyclists took part in the cycle race of almost 95km in Johannesburg, South Africa that began and ended in Fourways.

Harford said:
"It is with deep sadness that the organisers of the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge event announce the death of a cyclist.
“The cyclist passed away after completing this event this afternoon. The family has requested that the details of his passing are not disclosed at this time and as the organisers we respect this request.
“We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family. Support has been extended to them during this difficult time.”
