Kanu was the stand-out on a pitch packed with football icons as the Nigerian striker scored a hat-trick for Arsenal legends and Gunners fans would be delighted to have him back.
At 40 years, Kanu showed at the Emirates he is still in fine touch with both head and feet.
He delighted a sell-out crowd at The Arsenal Foundation fundraiser and some fans were so impressed they felt Kanu could still do a job for their first team.
Current striker Olivier Giroud was the man to cop the brunt of criticism with fans impressed by the former front man Kanu, whose last professional outings came for Portsmouth in 2012.
“Retired Kanu still has more pace and is still more clinical than Giroud,” wrote one fan, who called for Arsene Wenger to sign him on a free.
Twitter user George said, “Kanu has gone for 12 years and has come and scored a hat Trick at the Emirates ahead of Giroud.”
