The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu on Friday said the agency will put a stop to the diversion of relief items and food at the Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) camps. According to a statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, Magu was quoted as saying this while promising World Food Programme officials paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Magu agreed that there are corrupt practices in IDP camps and promised to dedicate a desk to stop these activities. The Assistant Executive Director, WFP, Roberto DaSilva had asked EFCC to look into the distribution of food to IDPs.
