Super Eagles' new coach, Gernot Rohr hails Mikel Obi

The newly employed coach of the Nigeria's Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has expressed his satisfaction with the attitude of captain John Mikel Obi, since he started working with him. The German hailed the Chelsea midfielder as a natural leader and made it clear he will remain the team’s skipper.

“Mikel is a natural leader,” “His experience and leadership is exceptional. I saw him play at the Olympics and I’m sure I want him to continue as my captain. He spoke with me on the phone and he’s here again when he should be resting from the rigours of the Olympics.” Rohr said in his words.

Rohr will officially take charge of the Super Eagles this weekend, when they play Tanzania in their final 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
